集結號，改編自楊金遠的小說《官司》，這本小說馬克沒看過，說真的，楊金遠是誰馬克也不識，維基百科中也沒有記載這號人物，幸好有Google，經過Google大神的指引，楊金遠，福建莆田人，寫作是他的業餘嗜好，本職是莆田政協副主任；《官司》是一部1.3萬字的短篇小說，2002年，楊金遠在央視的《百姓故事》節目中，看到一位倖存的老戰士，他一直在尋找戰友的遺骸，為了要證明戰友不是失蹤，而是烈士，為了緬懷戰友，他住到了軍營附近，每當號角響起，他總是出現在軍營門口。楊金遠把這名老戰士的故事變成了小說《官司》，接下來的發展請點我。
電影，就像是一本小說，敘述的是一個故事(或多個)，所謂故事，據維基百科的解釋是：故事並不是一種文體，它是通過敘述的方式講一個帶有寓意的事件。劇情會按照票房來做設定以及考量，我們每天已經充滿了太多政治口水，電影的本質本來就不是在於事件的真實與否，不過就是個故事，Take it easy，讓張涵予精湛的演技感動你，讓劇中刻骨銘心的兄弟情誼永垂不朽。
- 編劇劉恆說：「第一，我們不討論戰爭有沒有意義；第二，我們不討論犧牲有沒有價值。」
- 影片的監製陳國富說：「畢竟講的是國共內戰，我們因此特意避開其正義、邪惡之名的爭論，讓觀眾看具體故事，而不是看戰爭本身。」
- 馮小剛說： 「傳統的戰爭片是為政治服務的，這個電影，還是從市場切入，希望在市場上能夠贏得大部份觀眾。」
集結號是繼搶救雷恩大兵後，馬克認為最棒的戰爭片，激烈的巷戰、濃郁的兄弟情、身殘志堅的老兵，從頭到尾的感動著馬克，無論你是否愛看戰爭片，集結號都是你不應該錯過的電影。
